Artist-generated exhibitions can help you put your art into the world in ways that don’t rely so much on other people.
Because making the work is only part of an artist’s life. Deciding how, and where, to share it matters too.
In this session, we’ll talk about exhibitions from an artist’s point of view. Not as something you wait to be invited into, but as something you can initiate for yourself. In my live online workshop with Mastrius.com we’ll explore ways to rely less on gatekeepers and more on your own clarity, intention, and resourcefulness. Finding venues, choosing the right body of work, the practical details of installation, promotion, and celebration – we’ll look at the whole picture.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Understand what artist-generated exhibitions are and where they can happen
- Plan and produce an exhibition, from logistics to installation
- Promote your work thoughtfully and effectively
I’ll be drawing on over forty years of experience exhibiting my own work, in solo, two-person, and group exhibitions. And my time as a curator, gallery owner, residency coordinator, adjudicator, and mentor. There’s almost nothing exhibition-related I haven’t encountered. I’m honoured to help you navigate this part of your artistic life with more confidence and less uncertainty.
LIVE & interactive. Recordings are included for one month after the session so you can revisit the material as you plan your own exhibitions.
