Curve continues a consideration of the essence of beauty, using objects that have in common their lightness of line and richness of colour as well as the symbolism and narrative that naturally inhabit them. By setting these objects out of their usual context, I explore their pure line, shape and colour in a non-narrative setting, often returning to the same questions: What is beauty? What does the fact of beauty have to do with my everyday life? How do we deal with the loss of beauty?
As I ask these questions, I look for ways the objects can provide answers without depending on their existing received meanings and the stories we already know.
